Meet Michael Lewis, who had been bassist for The Hepcats, although, really, a top shelf, world class guitarist. An incredibly important person in my life. As 1984 stretched on, I decided to make a switch stylistically from the retro-rock that I had been playing for the last several years. That summer, Michael agreed to help me produce and record my second album, Secret World. An album of original pop music. A complete departure from what I had been playing and a bold move that could have been a disaster. I respected Michael's talent, however, and knew that if he was on-board, it was bound to come out well. He, in turn, trusted my hunch and went right along with me every step of the way. We made a successful and creative record, which still sounds great today, 24 years later. Secret World will be available in a new digital re-master (with a full album's worth of bonus tracks) in the Alpha Sound Archive Series.
